The Gaulitana Festival of Music is a yearly Easter-time festival organized by the Gaulitanus Choir. Spanning nearly 2 months, it will include various concerts displaying a pot-pourri of styles by an international list of performers around different venues in Gozo. These include a concluding concert featuring the Gaulitanus Choir, Soloists and Orchestra featuring Messa Papa Giovanni XXIII by Joseph Vella and Missa Brevis In Honorem Johannis Pauli II by Colin Attard celebrating the imminent canonization of both popes; a concert by one of the leading UK chamber choirs, the Elysian Singers; a concert by Steinway artist, pianist, conductor and organist Alexander Frey; and 2 concerts premiering in Malta Italian contemporary music in the presence of the composers themselves. This year, the festival\'s 8th edition, the highlight will be a full-staged opera, TOSCA, at the Teatru tal-Opra Aurora on the 12th of April 2014. Tosca, featuring top-notch singers Norma Fantini (Tosca), Piero Giuliacci (Cavaradossi) and Francesco Landolfi (Scarpia), will be held in collaboration with Taormina Festival. All concerts for the Gaulitana Festival of Music are free of charge (apart from the opera TOSCA). Full details about programme of events and more info can be found www.gaulitanus.com.
