St.James Cavalier Theatre Overview in Valletta, Malta

St James Cavalier was restored and changed into a Centre for Creativity  as part of a millennium project. The Centre's philosophy is to also take in, reflect and support the country's traditional and historical heritage and culture.

Housed in a 16th Century fort, the centre is home to a small theatre-in-the-round, an arthouse cinema, a chamber music room and gallaries. St James Cavalier is strongly committed to supporting the contemporary creative scene. The centre has welcomed both local and foreign artists, writers, singers and actors, dancers, musicians as well as thinkers and other creators.

St James Cavalier Cinema has one air-conditioned screening room where films are shown Wednesday to Sunday. Snacks and drinks can be purchased from the vending machine next to the screening room or from the cafeteria downstairs.

St. James Cavalier is located in the stunning capital of Malta, Valletta, close to the Upper Barakka Gardens which overlook the island’s amazing Grand Harbour. It has enjoyed over a million visitors over a period of 10 years.
