Bull – by Mike Bartlett

Ringside Theatre Company is thrilled to announce that fringe theatre is now in Gozo!

RTC’s A-side company will be presenting Bull, a contemporary piece of theatre by renowned British writer Mike Bartlett.

Bull is a fast paced and raw piece of drama focusing on the competitive world of corporate ambition, ruthlessness and sacrifice. It contains themes of bullying and abuse and is recommended for an audience aged 15+ . It will ONLY BE STAGED IN GOZO, so grab your chance to see this contemporary piece of theatre.

Other reviews of Bull:

Bull – Excerpt Review by Rebecca Pinnington – Jan 2015 – Young Vic, London:

Following the success of King Charles III and Cock, Mike Bartlett’s Bull lands at the Young Vic with a bang. A darkly comic and violent emotional rollercoaster of a play, Bull is some of the best fringe theatre I have seen in a long time.

Bull – Excerpt Review by Famke Veenstra-Ashmore – Oct 2021 – The Corpus Playroom, Cambridge:

Bull is a fifty-minute, stripped back production, which earns the play’s blunt and brutal name. Sparsely staged, but impactful and profound, this show handles its difficult themes maturely, featuring some very effective acting, and experimenting with interesting creative and dramatic elements in a fresh, yet clearly considered, way.

Bull – Excerpt Review by Fiona Mountford (Evening Standard) – Dec 2015 – Young Vic, London:

If we were looking for a writer of the year, it would be hard to argue against Mike Bartlett, winner of two Olivier Awards, for King Charles III and this play in its earlier run at the Young Vic, as well as the compelling if improbable BBC drama Doctor Foster.

Bull is easily the least showy of these three works, but it’s by far the hardest hitting. It is, in fact, brutal, pummelling viewing.

RTC is a relatively new independent theatre company based in Gozo with an aim to bring regular intimate theatre to Gozo first and foremost. As part of its ethos, it strives to engage a wider community interested in performance arts within Gozo and runs a weekly group to encourage all levels of experience to become active enthusiasts within theatre (B-side), as well as encouraging audience members to become regular patrons of their professionally staged productions (A-side).
