Eminent concert pianist and recording artists Marco Podestà, a familiar face at Gaulitana, collaborates with his daughter, Italian violin prospect Eleonora, in an intimate chamber recital. The delightful repertoire features sonatas by Mozart, Schubert and Grieg blending classical forms with emotional expression in addition to the contemplative minimalism of Fratres.
Gaulitana: A Festival of Music returns, inviting aficionados to immerse themselves in a timeless musical experience.
Defined as “a major festival of classical music” (Musical Opinion UK), the annual springtime festival presents a multifarious programme of concerts and recitals in various localities around Gozo as international and local artists star in an eclectic mix of musical styles. The educational programme GAULearn and an exhibition on Puccini run in parallel as the festival aspires to kindle creativity in a month-long cultural bonanza.
Gaulitana runs from 23 March to 21 April. Festival events (except opera) are free of charge and no reservations are required.
