The OPERA+ Weekend commences on Friday with a recital by Liliana Kehayova, boasting a busy concert activity in festivals and recitals around Europe. The programme featuring solo cello works by Bach and Cassadó is preceded by a short presentation on the main lateral paintings in Gozo’s second oldest village parish.
Gaulitana: A Festival of Music returns, inviting aficionados to immerse themselves in a timeless musical experience.
Defined as “a major festival of classical music” (Musical Opinion UK), the annual springtime festival presents a multifarious programme of concerts and recitals in various localities around Gozo as international and local artists star in an eclectic mix of musical styles. The educational programme GAULearn and an exhibition on Puccini run in parallel as the festival aspires to kindle creativity in a month-long cultural bonanza.
Gaulitana runs from 23 March to 21 April. Festival events (except opera) are free of charge and no reservations are required.
